IAF to host Exercise Tarang Shakti 2026 at Jodhpur air base
The Indian Air Force will host the second edition of Exercise Tarang Shakti at the Jodhpur air base from September 26 to October 11, featuring militaries from around 40 countries.
The Indian Air Force is organizing a large-scale military exercise in the country, with about 40 nations, including the US, France, and Germany, taking part. This multinational military event is scheduled at the Jodhpur air base and will run from September 26 to October 11.
The main objective of the exercise is to strengthen mutual coordination, combat synergy, and shared strategies between the Indian Air Force and participating global militaries. According to defense sources, special focus will be given during this period to lessons learned from Operation Sindoor.
The event will showcase fighter jets, transport aircraft, and special units, along with indigenous defense platforms like Tejas, Dhruv, and Prachand.
The training sessions include Dissimilar Air Combat Training, giving pilots a chance to practice against unfamiliar aircraft and new combat strategies. Additionally, the participation of the US F-35 stealth fighter will be a major highlight, offering key insights into fifth-generation capabilities, sensor fusion, and stealth technology.
Hosting this multinational exercise will give the Indian Air Force better control over training scenarios and allow more domestic personnel to experience international defense drills.
